The quattro GmbH located in Neckarsulm produced the last of total 8.081 RS 6 - a unique combination of a Biturbo engine and quattro-drive, a spacious body and a superb DRC-suspension. The RS 6 offers a driving experience with unique sovereignty. The engine, a 4.2 V8, has an output of 450hp and even at 1950 rpm it offers a torque of 560Nm. The adjustable DRC-suspension system reduces side tilt in curves without any loss of comfort, thanks to the quattro-drive the traction is always guarantee optimal traction.

In May 2002 the Audi AG and their hundred percent daughter quattro GmbH launch this never seen car on the market: The RS 6 combinates the space and the efficiency of an ordinary A6 or an A6 Avant with the performance and handling like a sports car.

The RS 6 is a joint development between the quattro GmbH and the Audi AG. It was produced as a sedan and Avant in Neckarsulm compound between the Audi plant and the quattro GmbH. Each day about 30 cars were final mounted and finished in the halls of the quattro GmbH in Neckarsulm. There are currently around 120 employees working here.

Around 6000 units were originally intended, but manager of the quattro GmbH tells; "the demand has by far passed our optimistic expectations". Since May 2002, totally 8.081 of the until now strongest model of the brand were produced.

With a sports variant limited to 999 units, the Audi RS 6 plus, the quattro GmbH extends their supply. With 353kW (480hp) the RS plus gets 30hp more than the standard RS 6 and accelerates in only 4.6 seconds from 0-100km/h.

In autumn of the next year, quattro GmbH will begin to produce the new RS 4 at its manufacturing plant in Neckarsulm. Until then, the employees will assist the production of the A6 and at the same time be qualified to manufacture the new quattro GmbH model.
