Quattro Returns to the North West !

Posted on Thursday, January 06, 2005 @ 08:51:34 GMT by audioc

The Audi Coupe Quattro of Alan Pemberton (Driver) & Martin Young (Navigator) will be back in action for the first time since returning from a successful foreign debut on the Rally Nederlands in October where they finished a respectable 46th overall & 11th in class against some of the top crews in Europe.

The crew will be embarking on a similar adventure on the 19th February 2005 on the Legend Fires North West Stages which will be based in Blackpool. The event will attract the cream of tarmac cars and crews from not only the North of England but from all over the country for this popular event in the rally calendar.
It will start under Blackpool Tower at 08.30 and will not finish until 20.00. The rally will consist of a number of stages totalling over 80 miles at 5 different venues. There will be increased spectator access this year with the public being able to watch the action on the promenade at Blackpool and at Pontins holiday camp near by. There will also be a chance for spectators to see the cars and their crew at Woodheads Skoda dealership on Squires Gate on Friday evening from 17.30hrs for Technical Scrutineering.

Last year Alan & Martin raised 808 in aid of the event charity which is Marie Curie Cancer Care, this was the highest contribution by a single crew last year this has enabled Alan & Martin to get a free entry this year.
The crew will be going all out to raise as much money as possible for the charity again this year.

The details of the rally including the competing crews are available on a web site www.nwstages.bun.com, but the event looks like it will fill up very fast with a capacity entry of 100 cars taking to the start ramp in Blackpool.

This will be a tough event for the crew as they aim to finish the event, they were up to 19th overall at one point last year when the gearbox broke with just 7 stage miles to go ,
I hope that you will come out & support the crew during the event and hope you come over & say hello to them in the service area.

Our aim is to finish this event & to raise as much money possible for the Marie Curie Cancer Care Charity so please give generously.

Thank You

Alan Pemberton & Martin Young
