The advice I have had is:

1. You drive under 10k a year and mostly short distances - PETROL

2. If you drive 20k plus a year and lots of long trips - DIESEL

BUT it will teke you 100k miles on ...

I can get on a REAL ECONOMY run 71 mpg from the 1.6 Tdi
But overall it is 57 mpg because 50% is very local (about 1.5 miles)

Any new owner of the 2000 one should be well pleased, like the owner of my old 2000 one was.

It does certainly make a BIG difference when you go to A6.

I had a leak on my 2000 W Avant. The pipe has joins where the pipe runs in the channel under the door.

The linkage can break if you have used the rear washer without sufficient liquid to stop ...

It is INSIDE but I am not sure about the saloon location. It is tucked away at the very bottom in the corner on the Avant.

If you have an Avant it is at the very back of the boot on the off side below the floor. It has the usual electric plug - so undo it. Then undo the nut retaining the unit of the spline.

The body shop looked at the inside of the panel. No sign of any problem.

They removed the rusty area, primed and painted.

Their conclusion is that it was poor metal.

Got it sorted !!! Plugged in and downloaded version 11.11.3.

All I have to do is memorise the guide and hope I don't destroy the cars workings ! I'll do it when the garage is open - not at ...
