Dials - Removal

My A6 has just developed a fault that I think may be down to a dodgy connection into the 'dash panel insert' as Audi refer to it. Basically the LHS indicator arrow flashes only now and again when indicating. I Folowed the instructions to remove the panel (Drop down wheel, remove cover panel, remove two screws) and by wiggling the wires into the back I was able to improve things for a while but it wasn't a permant fix.

What I'd like to know is is it safe to temporarilly unplug the leads into the back of the instrument unit so I can check/clean the connections, or will I end up immobilising the car or pernmanantly disabling the dash?

Well I did it, and you can remove the leads without messing everything up according to an independant Audi garage who were helpful. The probelm is cleaning this contact hasn't removed the fault.

Does anyone know where the indicator relay is buried? My loose connection may be at that end.

Hi mate,
The indicator relay is part of the hazard warning switch - in the middle of the centre console. Good luck.
