Can anyone tell me the factory fit tyre size for an Audi 90 20v (not sport or quattro). i have 195x50x15's on my 20v, which always look flat (but they aren't).
Would 205x60x15's maintain the rolling circumfrance of 195's ? The alloys are the standard Aero's
Thanks in advance

Fitting the 205/60x15 will increase the rolling raius slightly as the 60 is the height of the tyrewall (the top of th rim to the top of th tyre) 205/50x15 would be fine though i use this profile on my wifes 2wd 20v coupe on the standard 15"speedlines. I cant remember for sure but i think the factory tyre size is 205/60x15. Someone will know for definite.

The rolling size is specific to the ABS, and when it steps outside the parameters that are programed, ABS stops working. That's why I wanted to know.
I'll give the 205x50x15's a shot. I take it that means that the dod of rubber between the floor and the rim will be 102.5. But the 195x50 is only 97.5. Maybe that's why they always look flat, and it feels a bit bumpy.

Gav,
You may be interested in http://www.fernblatt.com/longhurst/tyre_bible.html. Toward the bottom is a rolling radius calculator.
My 90/20v nonQ uses 205/50R15 which I though were standard (but I can't find the handbook), on what appear to be SportRader 6 alloys.
Surely the ABS only compares relative wheel speeds? Provided all tyres change their rolling radius together, then there shouldn't be a problem? Or are you thinking of changing one or two tyres at a time
See http://auto.howstuffworks.com/anti-lock-brake.htm

Audi 80's on 15" Alloys run 205 50 15's as standard.
IMO Get a set of 17's on it then it will look right!!

17"'s on 15" rims hmmmmm think they may become tracks rather than tyres

The Correct change of tyre size would be 205/60x 15!!!!!! |

Not on the Audi 90 - they never had 205x60/15 tyres. Only the Coupe had that tyre size. I think for the 6 inch Ronal wheels, the correct size is 195x50/15. Only the sport 20v models with the speedlines had the 205 profile. I could be wrong as I'd need to double check my owners manual. |

Wel I'm going to put some 205x50x15's P6000 on, ride has to be better than the present 195x50's. The wheel; is the standard 6x15 Aero, the flat dish with small slots in it, not something to help check your brakes without taking off the wheels |
