gears when cold and other problems..

Hi, i've got a question.. basically when i start up my engine after a cold night for the first ~2 minutes its harder to shift a second gear in than it is normally, some of my friends who have Audis have the same problem.. is it anything i should be concerned about? btw. i drive audi a4 b6 1.9tdi.

another question is where can i get a rear ash tray because i bought my car without one.

and finally my front ash tray (next to gear stick) since i bought it didnt fully open so i decided to have a go at it however i broke some plastic and now it wont shut... which is a bit annoying. is there any guide on how to take off the center console or anything like that?

Cold = thick oil in gearbox = slow synchromesh action : try to slow down your gear changes

Ebay is the obvious answer to your second problem

i've tried ebay, scrap yards and everywhere.. and i couldnt find any ash trays. thanks tho, will try slowing down my gear changes or possibly change the gearbox oil?
