After extensive research I cannot really find which of the current market brands of oil are best suited to my Audi B7 2lts TDI
Would someone please enlighten me

Personally, on my 90's I stick with genuine Synta oil (cost me £21 for 5 litres of semi synthetic yesterday)- some dealers charge less.

Somebody else will be along at some point to advise on the oil for your engine... Wink

Is yours on a 'long life' service?
If so you'll be needing 5w 30. VW/Audi 504.00/507.00

Personally I HATE the Audi long life service plan even though we have to 'promote' it at work. Goes against everything I stand for.

I have a B7 from 2007 and I'll be dumpimg the oil and filter every six months like I have with all the Audi's I've owned in the past.

I've been using Castrol Edge 5w30 In the A4 and A2 for the last 5 years (and genuine Audi filters) every 10k without issue. Avoid engine treatments such as STP oil flush prior to pulling the sump plug. A brisk 20 minute drive to get the oil temperature up works wonders and increases the oil viscosity. I also siphon the used oil from the filter reservoirs... because I'm ever-so-slightly obsessive compulsive! Laughing
