Hi everyone.

I just took a 2001 8L A3 AUM auto in as a part-ex on my Caddy and I really like the car and want to keep it as a daily, but it has a little problem that I wonder if you guys can help me with?

When you start the car from cold it always fires up first time no problems, but when you put the car into reverse or drive the revs drop, it starts to judder and hunt between about 500 and 1000 RPM and will sometimes stall.

As soon as you drive off the car drives perfectly. No juddering and no stalling, boosts right as far as I can tell and has plenty of power (has been remapped). I don't think its an auto box problem as the box is very smooth and goes into all gears correctly.

I've read all sorts of things about throttle bodies, turbo hoses and coil packs online but just want to see if anyone else has had a similar problem and knows what the fix is before I start spending loads of cash on parts I don't need!

Oh, and the EML light wasn't on when I got the car last month but came on last week and hasn't gone out since.

Any help would be really appreciated.

Cheers.
