Hi all.

I need some help looking for possible causes of this leak. This happened over the weekend I assume as I only noticed it on Monday. The car was not driven over the weekend and after rain the past couple days it's getting wetter.

The car is a 2004 Audi A6 1.9 TDI SE

The battery compartment appears to drain ok

Here is a picture of the pedal area, I've highlighted in blue the areas which are wet/damp the more blue there is the wetter it is.

Underneath the bonnet, there is this area which was full of gunk and dead leaves, which I attacked with a hoover:

It was a lot worse than those pictures before. This is apparently the bonnet release cable, filling this area with water, it did take a while to drain off, however after hovering it as best as I could, it seems to flow fine now. Water is still finding it's way into the car though.

Is there any other likely things I can check? It's defiantly water from outside the car as it's only wetter / worse after it's been raining.

Many thanks!

EDIT:

Even though battery compartment was draining ok, there was a drainage hole blocked to the left! Hopefully this has sorted the problem.

NOPE STILL LEAKING! Sad

Hey! I think I recall seeing your username once or twice, but I don't think I was on the old enough during the time you were there to really get to know you.

After clearing the drain hole, water is still leaking in.

I tracked the leak to here:

Does anybody know exactly what it is?

Drivers side, it is up the gap where the red arrow is pointing, the phone was sat along the blue arrow when I took the picture.

The angle it's at is almost pretty much vertical, maybe a slight slope to it. It's just above the black circle part.

From the engine bay:

The red circle is the approximate location of where it's leaking.

I got someone to hose down here (redcircle):

Whilst they were doing that, I could feel the water coming through with my fingers.

The drains are no longer blocked, so it must be something in route to them. I know it still leaks as I lightly hosed my windscreen the other day for a bit to simulate rain, and it still got in! Sad

Edit:

I think I found the area where it is in the engine bay:

The hole is the rubber seal part on the previous picture, and the leaking part is where the cracking bit is below.

Thrown a load of sealant around it so hopefully this sorts it!
