hi everyone. so i was going to chop my 2.5tdi in and get a 2.7t allroad. i wanted quattro and more power basically!!

however my plans have been thwarted. abs and fuel injector problems mean my next garage bill is going to be about £2000 if i'm lucky so i'll be keeping the 2.5tdi for a while longer. in the interim though i'm thinking about a remap, atleast to give a bit more power and perhaps cure a bit of the turbo lag when its between 1500 and 2000rpm. i've read a few threads on here about remapping bit i'm after stats. the various websites have all these nice claims but how realistic are they?

question is, does the remap to 180odd bhp make a noticable difference to power and mpg? or am i better off just waiting another 12 months or so, get a bit of moneys worth out of the new parts, and then get the allroad?

also, does anyone know a good way to stop jackdaws throwing bits and pieces down my chimney that doesnt involve firearms? if not i'll resort to that

Not quite the same but I had an A4 2.5 163. Decided to play. Rolling road gave it 180, then the fun started. ECU code then showed it actually WAS a 180 engine despite the sticker in the boot/manual. It was the last of the 2.5 TDIs so we think I was just lucky.

Anyway chipped it to 213bhp and it was really good, I mean really! Normal commute the mpg improved about 5% or 2-2.5 mpg. But it was incredibly free revving and so much smoother all the way to the red-line. Disappointingly there was no power nor torque change below 1800 rpm but after that torque just rose continuously above std motor.

Do it! Use a reputable company with comeback AMD, Superchips, Angel etc. You'll wish you did it years ago, I did.
