I think I may have a tiny leak in my heater: Sad occsonal hard to demist in wet conditions, once it felt like someone poored some water in the air con, twice I had a suspiscous smell, and in my reservior I seem to loose 1oz every 1000mls.

how can the heater be checked or changed? is it a devils job ?? or easy peasy? Confused

These things are usually the devil's own to get at. Are you sure it is not condensation settling in the system ?

if the strange smell you describe is "fishy" then it is likely to be coolant. if its just bad smell then maybe it is only condensation causing all the nasty dirt in the air box or pollen filter to mature?
search the series 3 forum for 'heater matrix' to find the instructions for doing the job yourself. parts are cheep (£50) but it will take over 8 hours to do and be careful putting it all back together. my windows dont wind up and the horn is silent still
good luck
