Nice bet that cheered you up, shame some of the best plates out we can't get on older cars.

Think you've got one of the best. Likewise with jas.

That's an ace plate, I prefer it when the plate refers to the car than a misspelt 'Dazza' or the like!

I have had a bit of bother with the car

The engine mgt light came on soon after I got the car - got in touch with the garage - Western Motors Car Deal Warehouse - who arranged for their Audi service centre to check the car it turned out to be a disconnected vacuum hose. No big deal - or so I thought.

Shortly after that I noticed oil & coolant lying on the driveway - back to the garage. It seems that turbo oil seals, cam cover gasket and some cooling part at the back of the engine had blown because of a build up of pressure problem.

The warranty company weren't interested - but to be fair to Western they took the car in and repaired it once i explained that the fault must have been there when i bought the car and that the earlier "disconnected hose" was actually a sympton of the problem.

The car is driving really well - my daughter (Lynne)has recently started work down near Berwick Upon Tweed so have had a good few runs down to help her get her flat sorted - getting nearly 40 to the gallon at near legal limit (lots of speed cameras) to curb my enthusiasm.
Although i got a bit less than that on Monday when i got a call that Lynne r had been in an accident - a Shogun ran straight into the back of her Mazda 323, she is a bit sore but generally okay although we heard today that the car is beyond economical repair - no real surprise but a bummer as she really loved her car and has no money saved up for a replacement.

Got a 6 cd changer fitted into the glovebox (came from a Skoda Octavia but identical to the Audi unit) - very neat installation.

I then saw the number plate and well you know the rest!

Next step might be K&N filter and eventaully a trip tp STAR Performance for their 195 bhp chip!

Are you having any luck selling your A4 ?

Jim @ STAR is worth a visit... remap really transforms the way that engine drives. Make sure the oil is spot on and CHECK the hoses please please. Jim is fussy and will likely pull a rolling road run to make sure its pulling ok to start with.
