New battery A4 Tdi

Hi

I was on hols for 4 weeks and car is 5.5 years old on original battery.
It JUST started but only came up to 50% on my meter. No warning lights on dash. RAC advised get a new battery.

Went to local reputable non Audid dealership. They put in the following:
UNIPART SAMSON Dual calcium technology Part GBA 4096. EN680 A?hr 80 R/C 135. Size length 278.

Now I read the manual and it says battery must be SAME SIZE as original
Bosc and others suggest 278 long for my car. Varta advanced say 315 long.

Fitting garage say technology has moved on and the one they fitted is correct.

Any comments please. Paid £109

The actual size and shape of the battery isn't important as long as it fits into the hole the old one came out of and the terminals are in the same place/same shape. What is important is the amp hour rating. This must be the same or higher.
