Booking in for Major ( 2 yr ) service at Halfords, and saw they do an engine / fuel clean. will cost £35 for the 2 cleaners - fuel and oil.

Has anyone used a fuel or oil cleaner and found it any use?

Halfords claim it will show an improvment on emissions, otherwise they won't charge for it?

Wondered if there are any additives you can buy from a factors and just add in yourself before an oil change as £35 seems 'enthustiastic' for two bottles of additive and measuring emissions?

Thanks for any suggestions. Smile

If its the latest fuel system cleaner then its a specialised job (as seen on wheeler dealers) Cleaner is forced in under pressure and it literally cleans the whole fuel system while the car runs on the cleaning aganet and not the fuel in the tank. apparently very good but I wouldnt trust halfrauds to do it. LOL

No additive or cleaner should be used! Use a good brand of fuel and an Audi recommended motor oil and you will be set to go. Go to bobistheoilguy.com if you want to read more about this subject.
