This is last chance saloon for me and my lovely A3, PLEASE HELP!
I own a 56 plate A3 s line 2L DSG with about 92k miles on the clock. I have owned it about 18 months and during my time of ownership i have always looked after it.
About 3 months ago i started to hear a slight knocking as i pulled away from a standing start, however it would only happen when my steering wheel was turned slightly. I sent it into my local Audi garage but they were unable to find anything.
As time has gone by the knocking has developed into more of a knock/rattle sounding like it is coming from the centre of the engine. It has become embarrassingly and worryingly loud and happening all the time.
- The loudest time is pulling away from a standing start and turning right. This is when you hear the knocking/rattling.
- Going round a roundabout is a constant rattle.
- I also get a slight rattle when travelling in a straight light on the motorway both accelerating under strain and taking my foot of the gas and cruising along.
Audi are telling me they cannot locate the fault because it only happens when pulling away.
I had the gear box oil changed at the last service.
Does anyone have any suggestions? Please.
Thanks you in anticipation.
