Hello all,its been quite some time since my last post as the A4 is now long gone and replaced with a merc!
boooo i hear you cry!
and the missus wanted rid of the 16v coupe so that has sat dormant on the drive for best part of 6-8 months.
But a reprise perhaps?
as is a womans want, she saw me jump start it the other day and has now decided to keep it for now at least.
some of you may know that i rebuilt the engine a long while ago and in the process i put in a pair of KR cams.
The car always ran ok after that but i was never convinced about the running of it,when timed with a gun the timing marks always moved around a bit and i could never get it to idle spot on,it did when the original cams were in.
i have always suspected those second hand cams possibly for wear or even that i should of put just the inlet cam in and left the original exhaust cam in.
Anyway,im thinking of putting some original cams back to stock or do i try and locate an ABF cam setup for a bit more oompf?
Any advice gratefully received.
Does anyone have any of these parts?

tbh unless you have had other work done, head, manifold exhaust etc the cams alone will not be very noticable and for sure stock cams will idle/run better although I've had no real issues with the kr's in mine wihich were dialled in with a gun.

If you have that would be great!
I did have a full head and spare cams a good while back but they took room up in the garage so I binned them.that will teach me.
I did a bit of basic porting on the head when I put the cams in but if I'm only getting minimal increases then I'll go back to stock.i take it when you say manifold its a case of getting a 20v one and cutting off the spare pipe/sealing it off?

that's an option and is how mine is as off the shelf isn't really available but I'm sure a vw option could be modified by a competent fabricator.
