Argh, that's very irritating! Seeing as I'd been looking at prices on ECS Tuning.. Gotta look around some more now!

From a quick look around partsnavigator, I found this on eBay by referring to part numbers.

I've heard that Nissens are alright? It's the cheapest heater matrix I can find as well for right hand drive, so I'm probably going to just order it in the next day or two. Smile

it can be a lottery with Nissens.

I went with Valeo as that was what came out.

You really only want to be doing this job once, says the man who had to do it twice. Moral is don't fit a second hand one

I reckon I'll just get the Nissens part.. It's only a small aluminum radiator so it can't be too bad? Valeo units are 67 Pounds on Amazon! Or $220 AUD here... Nissens is like $40 AUD.. Hm.

Used heater core, I never even thought that anybody would do that? Lol

It came out my S2 which got written off.

I was replacing the complete heater duct and controls and just re-used the matrix. It lasted about 50k miles.

Written off S2? That's really sad, such a beautiful car and presumably well looked after since it was yours.

Anyway, thanks for the help as usual Mike! Smile
Going to save up and get a Valeo, I actually know someone with a trade account at Audi and the Euro parts import dealer for Australia so I'll see how it goes Smile
