Audi 80 1.6se. Having trouble with the fuel lines that run from back to front along chassis. In short there rotten and no longer available from Audi. Local garage has said they would replace the lot with petrol flexible pipe. Anybody else had the same problem to overcome? Mike

I used 5/16" Kunifer pipe and some compression joints to replace mine

Hi Mike, so where does one get this Kunifer pipe and unions from. Did you replace the lot or just the worst bits. Also have you got the tool for reclipping the fixing brackets back over themselves (a right pain). If I can't fix this the car is scap me thinks. Mike

I got mine from Ebay. Klarik Engineering supplies is a recommended seller.

I replaced the lot on mine but I wouldn't do it again as you need to remove the steering rack.

Last time I cut them just as they go up passed the gearbox. Got a picture on-line

Here's how they were before

during

after

For the clips, I use screwdrivers. narrow tipped flat blades are best. just watch your fingers

I'm probably too far away and I'm just about done with working on the older cars.

There must be a decent specialist near you who can take it on

Well just an up date, this mod was carried out some weeks ago now with no probs untill now. Not sure if they are connected any way but now having starting probs. Poss no fuel reaching injection or Ignition switch faulty. Engine spins over but no firing for a long time then will occasionally rumble into life, having the fuel filter changed to eliminate that but that's about my limit. Any idears anybody? Sniffer Mike

It's possibly some dirt in the line has found it's way to the engine bay.
