My 100 2.0E Avant Auto has two problems I'd appreciate a bit of guidance on please (pos related):

1. Idle stays the same regardless of hot or cold - shouldn't idle be higher when starting in the cold? Confused

2. When starting cold (or after night of rain with damp air, etc) - every time this happens is when going to work in the morning traffic (groan). I have seen that on warm summer mornings there is not a problem - the engine will start and run fine. I drive for about 1/2 mile or a couple of minutes and it will not idle, cutting out either in drive or neutral/park on the auto trans. If (as I do) I keep starting and moving, the car behaves OK after 5 minutes or so and runs as if nothing ever happened. Mad

I'm looking at either the idle stab valve or the warm up valve/regulator on the Motronic - do you guys think this will be the likely suspects? I've also got a fault code reader on order but haven't got that to see if it shows anything yet.

All guidance appreciated! Sad

Cheers
