Hi

A friend of mine has a mildly bumped UR 10v. It needs a bonnet, OSF wing, bumper, OS lights and maybe some suspension repairs. My question is, what sort of availability is there on these sort of parts? Can brand new items still be bought, or can you only get second hand parts now-a-days? What sort of money will the mentioned parts likely to cost? Is there anything in particular that needs to be looked into for this sort of damage?

I realise I've supplied fairly vague details, but I've yet to see the car with my own eyes and need some advice before I decide whether it's worth it or not to buy and repair.

Cheers

Mick

Mick,

Check out the following,

http://www.amcarsquattro.co.uk/

and

http://www.quattroconcepts.co.uk/

Both supply new and used parts, had my urq for a few months and spent a few bob on it but never had a problem sourcing parts, my local partco is my first stop and they usually have everything.

Cheers

M

Is this the one that is on ebay at the moment ? ( If it is beware the roof is damaged on this Car)

Parts New front wing from Audi £214.00 + VAT . Headlamps (about £100.00) Grill ETC German & Swedish or Eurocar Parts. Bonnet is the same as the non turbo coupe's so second hand should not be hard to find. Sanburn @ coventry ( Breakers) 024 7663 7376. You will need a full 4 wheel alingment check, starts at about £100.00 depending on what needs doing, (it needs to be a proper 4 wheel alingment check not just check the front & rear tracking).

South Hereford Audi 01432 375375
quattro corner (Pete Reeve) 07976 832676
also, vagparts.com

Hope this is some help

No it's not, I don't think this one is advertised anywhere as yet... it's a firend of a friend who has it - don't know him personally either, so I wanted to get some 'impartial' advice you see.

Cheers

Being the osf you should also look at the intercooler, oil cooler, alternator, The undertray for the osf is over £100.00. The hose from the metering head (reinforced one) is a similar price. All in that area

Link to the one on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=19291&item=2416850935

Parts are no problem as all are available new although prices vary quite a lot.I used to work in a crash repair shop repairing write offs and doing reshells.Don`t worry too much about the panel work as it is`nt too important, but be very carefull about checking the main frame of the car for signs of movement.Tell tale signs are cracked sealer or flakeing paint on seams or creases in the metalwork. Also check the door gaps to see if they are even from side to side. You may find that nothing has moved,it takes quite an impact to do any lasting damageIf there is heavy suspension damage it would be wise to have it put on a jig to check if the mounting points have moved. If in any doubt get an accident repair specialist to look at it as mistakes can prove expensive!
