A4 1.8 Car Woes :-(

Hi

I'm a bit peeved with the A4 at the moment. I had one previous for 8 months which was a dog. New engine block, water leak, internal soaking, speakers, etc all went wrong with this car. Keeping it short I got another, Hmmm did I do right?

I have had the cambelt changed at a nice price of £240. Whilst there I made Audi aware of the high clutch biting point. Conclusion - a new one required soon. I had a new one at 23,000, so this has done 50,000. I don't ride the clutch and treat with respect. Anyone else had problems with high biting/wearing clutches??

Next up funny whine in gearbox, most noticable in 4th. Heard a few horrors about the gearboxes, anyones thoughts appreciated.

A few other little things like wipers not returning to resting position whilst at speed using the 1 wipe facility, bizarre. Is this a relay problem? I've even had the wipers collide. The drivers wiper is now slightly higher to avoid this problem.

I'm struggling to think I will purchase another Audi. I've loved the car but the little problems have bugged me. Does anyone else live with non critical problems? I was delighted when I first got the car as it was perfect. BUT for the price I could've got a V6 Mondeo with all the kit. I got a basic 1.8 Audi instead. Was this right!!????????????
