My UR MB in town yesterday stopped accelerating suddenly. Will tick-over but wont accelerate at all when the pedal is pressed, infact it stalls. Look under the bonnet and I find the air-box will move forward slightly and the rubber turbo hose will collapse in on itself. The concertina hose looks like its seen better days and it appears that there may be a hole on the outer skin of the hose. The inner part seems to be intact. Am I barking up the right tree here or does anyone know of any other issues. Incidentally the inside of both hoses appear to have oil in them. Bearing in mind the MB is water cooled I was advised it maybe an oil seal on the turbo thats gone. Can this be correct. TIA for any input to someone thats mechnically challenged.

Thanks
Ian

Looks like you have found your problem but I had a similar problem with my CQ20V and turned out to be plug leads breaking down under load. Had to drive it home at under 1500 rpm Sad

Is that based upon the info I gave in my initial thread or on another forum? To assist others in anycase. The problem was with the turbo hose which had collapsed inside itself. The vacum created was being closed off by the inner membrane of the hose closing off any air flow. A new hose from Audi (delivered to my door I might add from Portsmouth) and £75 lighter in the pocket. HTH someone maybe in the future.

Regards
Ian
