Just heard on the radio if you register your audi at www.audi.co.uk you can get a free mot. Have just registered mine, dont know what the catches are (apart from the obvious high labour costs for any work done) worth a look at i suppose ! will read the small print when i get chance. |

I've just registered and printed the confirmation - no mention of a 'use by' date, but (not surprisingly) it does say that retests will be chargeable.
Mine's not due till August, so I'll give it a go if I remember....

There's a post on Audi-Sport and apparently it only applies to cars up to 2 litres, I can't confirm this though. |

No mention of that on the Registration page or on my Confirmation print-out James. I would query what engine size has to do with the MoT anyway?
Tell 'em to join a proper forum!
Cheers,

booked in yesterday (not due till july) for 8:30 test this morning at Ayr Audi (not my usual place, but the new big showroom, full facilities etc, etc)
As many half caff, skinny, mochachrinolatte drinks as you can manage in 45 mins, walked around showroom, £93k RS6 in the corner seemd a lot of cash for 250 extra horses, anyway passed no advisories (6 in a row for me ), I hadn't asked about the free mot option when I booked it in, the service guy handed me my paperwork and told me it was free, a very straightforward experience.
Oil change next week and we're ready for another 8-9k year |

I have just registered today - Confirmation print out states "offer is valid to 05/06/2010"
1 year from the date of registering seems pretty good

I work for an Authorised Audi/ VW repair centre and we had a talk about this yesterday evening and also had a customer in today with one of the vouchers. |

And if it fails do you guys think I could get away with applying for another voucher in my fiances name. hmmmm. |

We're are a small but very friendly family run business. We very focused on your car and have a total different attitude from the main dealer, which our customers have commented on and those who have conveted from them.
We want you to be 100% satisfied with both the quality of work on your car and the service you receive from us.
We give an honest diagnosis of your car and we most deffinately wont "hold you to ransom" if you need addition work carried out on the car.
If you take up the offer, give us a phone and book it in with us, if nothing else you you will have received a free MOT but we hope to give a "5 star service" everytime you come into the garage. |

Have just booked mine in locally (Cheshire Oaks Audi) for 15th July.
Can't see any catches - free MOT - retest chargeable - so if it fails I'll have to pay which means I'll be no worse off than had i taken it to another garage. They say they won't do any work without asking first and you are not obliged to have any work done there.
I'll update after I've been - fingers crossed all is well. |

horrible - unless you like to be patronised and treated like an idiot for having such an 'old' car.
Never again |

I think it all depends on which main stealer you go to.
Don't get me wrong my visit cost me nothing and the car was washed also - not that it was dirty when it went in but as it says everything is actually free. |

Had my free MOT done in June by Warrington Audi, but they failed it on the number plates and master light switch.
But after checking on the MOT failure paper work it states that if you take it away to get it fixed yourself and book it back in for a re-test before the end of the next working day then you are still eligable for the free MOT.
Luckily I had mine done on a Friday so the next working day was a Monday, so had all weekend to get if fixed.
When I went to pick it up on the Monday evening, it had been cleaned inside and out.
Will be doing again next year. |

I had my A6 TDi MoT'ed for free in July - and have just had it done again (for free) as it is going up for sale. I also had a free MoT for my newly acquired Quattro (although it was MoT'ed until next summer) as a heads up on any work needed.
In each case they also do a complimentary vehicle inspection - and supplied a print-out, which will be quite handy for the new owner.
Norwich Audi seem quite happy with all of this - in fact they didn't charge me for replacing the two (white) front indicator bulbs with amber ones......

Mine is booked in for its free MOT on Friday while booking it in the boy on the phone said so aye your cars now 5 years old and due a timing chain change, and here I was under the impression that the timing chain was fitted to the 3.2 V6 so it was a 'lifetime' part. questions will be asked, and they're going to give me a price on when I take it in.
That'll be a giggle. |
