Hi all looking at vcds/vag com can anyone tell me what i need for an a4 1998 19 tdi b5 please?

Depends on what you want to do.

Just checking for fault codes or are you planning on doing data logging.

The basic shareware VCDS can check for codes and a basic adapter lead is available quite cheaply.

If you need or want to do more, you'll need the full registered version.

I got mine over 10 years ago and I went direct to Ross Tech in the USA

Hi thanks for your reply i was thinking of using it to read and check,clear error codes and as my car came from germany i want to change dis and dash values to uk values ie miles and degrees celc would i be able to do this with a basic version or would i need full version?
