Hi All.....

Wonder if anyone has any ideas on this? I have a 2003 2.0 FSI which suffers form occasional electric P A S failure. This always occurs when the car is started (never whilst driving). The warning light on the dash comes on + the warning tones. If i remove the PAS circuit fuse (found out about this on another website) & restart the car after a few minutes the steerting works as normal and usually continues with no probs for many weeks. Have heard this is becoming quite a common problem now. Is this likely to need a new steering rack (£900 or so from Audi) or is it likely to be a seperate electronic componant that can be replaced such as the steeing angle sensor. From what I have been told I think it is an electonic componant problem rather than the whole rack needing replacement - which I am hoping to avoid!

Cheers Steve.
