Hello,
Just seeking a brainstorm here.
My 2001 A6 2.7t seems to develop a vibration around 60 Mph ~ 75 Mph. I have new tires that the dealer has balanced twice just to satisfy my complaint. Problem began before replacing the rubber. Other than the Michelin replacements at 47K miles I am not sure where else to begin to look for problems; suspension, cvs, etc? How does one scientifically eliminate the issue of vibrations without replacing the entire car?
Any ideas?

I have the same problem, I had the same problem. Change front tyres from left to right, and have them rebalanced, this however you have to after every 10-15K

Very important otherwize the vibration will go to the disks and then you have to replace these

So in short, replace the tyres from left to right (not wheels but Tyres and rebalance)

Let us know how you got on

also check no crud between wheel, disc and hub

i just got new tyres, and there is a tiny vibration, despite getting them rebalanced.... 99 2.7 avant. the old tyres tho bald were no problem...

are your wheel bolts at the right torque - 120nm or about 80lbft ie far too much to do/undo with the short wheel brace in the toolkit

good luck
