Hi there,
My first Audi - first post so greetings to all you enthusiasts out there.
Having recently acquired a new (03 ex-demo) `beast`, as my daughter calls it I am particularly interested in any info. / comments you may have - good and bad.
It will be used for the usual domestic duties plus towing - horse box and (VAG) competition car / trailer.
Thanks in advance.... |

Towing shouldn't be a problem. The allroad is a particularly impressive vehicle - just watch those tyres. They are very expensive to replace |

Competition car is a Mk1 Golf GTI - caged and modified for use in Sprints / Hillclimbs; doesn`t have five cylinders but does have five injectors !

Pembo will probably respond to this- he's got an Ex Audi demonstrator tdi allroad, and he's got a mad Coupe quattro 20valve rally car- both are in the gallery section of the site, if you want to see pictures!
He's managed to aqua plane his allroad once, took out a telegraph pole and ditched it. Damage to the car was fairly minimal- more damage was done to the car retrieving it...... |

As a tow car if forgets that it is towing! Just bought a flatbed trailer to tow the Coupe quattro rally car to events. The allroad is a great car. |

Thanks all.
Pembo - do you have the Audi tow hitch or an `alternative` make ? My dealer found that the alternative makes had become discontinued and is now fitting the real thing.........which is my preference anyway; it`s double the price however !
I use a Brian James tiltbed trailer which is excellent as was the Land Rover Freelander TD4 I part ex`d for the Allroad. I`ve yet to commence towing but I`m sure there will be a `slight` difference !!
Interesting pictures of Curborough - I`ve got a sprint meeting there on May 3rd. |

Its the Audi fit removable type.
The trailer is an Ifor Williams LM6 16' flat bed with 8' aluminium ramps. |
