beacause i can Very Happy Very Happy
i just really like the look of the 2door 80's but want quattro and a 5pot burble and looked into getting a 2door 80 and converting but would be loads easier to weld my doors up Laughing im also going to put a cage in it and strip it out and use it as a play thing so practicality not needed but can see your point Smile

aye too right never mind though i always try and find some reason why stuff happens and the reason this time was too sort out the audi and take it off the road Sad before i bought my 90 i nearly bought an 80 but really wanted that 5pot soundtrack so let it go but ive always wanted mine to look like this but a bit lower with some smoothing in Twisted Evil

so plans go something like this;
take off road, strip and sort all areas of concern and weld rear door up for 3 door conversion Twisted Evil Twisted Evil lower on coilvers so i can fiddle with settings re-spray a new shade of white im torn between the new audi white or ford frozen white Rolling Eyes
this will all start to happen once the mk2 is on the road but im hoping for a 2010 outing in it Laughing

Shock What a babe of a quattro! I would'nt mind one of these Cool Rare as hens teeth these days Sad

My thoughts too Gompo Very Happy the series 2 & 3 80's have always been the lightest of the quattro's in my book. I use to own a couple of 80 sports back in the old days, both series 2's one of the early type in white and the face lift version in tornado red.

Parts of the face lift version I had on a 1986 C plate was galvanised too such as the bonnet Surprised

I should have collected a good few of these when I had the chance and raided the scrap yards too cos they were quite common place back then but then I never had the space I have now Sad

have you thought of just welding up plates over the door handles - can be very effective - seen a few done in euro style

with the kit- looks ok, if you just weld the doors up, will (in my eyes) look like a mongrel- the windows will give it away....

quick plan is;
strip and chop boot floor out replace wid rads
replace wings with better and just pull the arches
get and weld in a full cage
20v in (without charger @1st)
weld up rear door and change all windows bar screen with lexani (plastic)
spray everything white Shock
should be early next year when things take measure.

this is it in its new big house where many things shall be getting done to it (once im fully back up to speed as im a compressor down at the mo)

Confused where did this come from? i never mentioned tyres? and if you meant about pulling the arches the car was doomed for the scrapper till i got it and kept it on the road for a year till i pulled it off to run my s2 and now im gonna make it a play thing for chasing big cars Laughing
