I've been on this site for a while now and it was actually jas's words which convinced me to go for the s2 that I did. Its about time that I added some words on here about it and what my plans are.

The car is a big step up from some of the other cars i've had which have included quite a few audis and fords. I'm still getting used to the car but its starting to grow on me.

Bought last june/july iirc for 2650 for my money I got a looked after s2 with the following mods:

chip of unknown origin (tho it makes 277.8bhp with a boost leak)
refurbished quattro script interior
19 inch rs6 alloys
alot of parts replaced on it.

Since i've had the car I must admit i've chucked alot of money at it in doing stuff to put my mark on the car, the biggest problem is most of the bits are actually sitting at home waiting for me to fit them.

Since these have been taken a few other bits have got on the car:

ellipsoids with hids for these and the fogs
full cat back stainless scorpion exhaust
modded aby airbox with k&n filter
black leather recaros with retrimmed rear/door cards and carbon
rs2 dials
rs2 door triggers
some chrome under the bonnet
koni front shocks
996 brakes
new dizzy gear

I am hoping in the next couple of months to fit the following:

full suspension rebuild including new nuts/bushes/powdercoated parts
koni rear shocks with h&r's
rs2 porsche wing mirrors
rs2 grille
3 inch downpipe with a new system
new front/rear bumpers
opening rear windows
plus alot more bits that are stored up atm.

The car is still running ok and since i've owned it I have only really needed to do one thing to keep it running and thats swap the cog on the dizzy as this went about a week after I got the car.

I am gratefull for both audifans and s2forum for the help/advice I have been given which has helped me keep the faith and the car Very Happy

Yeah i'm going to try and get pictures so I can do a step by step guide.

Is there a section dedicated for just step by step guides on here or does it just go straight into the normal s2 section?

Well I got the windows fitted last monday, been trying to sort out pictures of the wiring etc to post up a how's too. It took us around 4 hrs to remove the old wiring and fit the new wiring and opening rear windows.

Quite fun to watch and have open, just gotta fit two last rubber bushes then its all done, found out them plus some screws was missing but everything else was there.

I also have problems getting it in gear now, sounds like either the clutch slave cylinder or clutch is gone as i'm getting the following symptoms:

struggling to get it in gear
clutch pedal vibrating badly
clutch slips as if its half stuck on and off.

Need to get that sorted soon but tempted just to have it done when the engines rebuilt.

been a while since i've updated this, i'm since having problems with the clutch and getting the following:

clutch vibration
slipping clutch when on boost
struggling to get into gear.

I am taking the car off the road hopefully in a couple of weeks time so I can get everything rebuilt on it. I am also getting the arches rolled after seeing this :

and this is without it being lowered yet (i've got everything at home to do it) the 19's fill the arches nicely.

this image will change soon as i'm going from this look to an rs2 front bumper for on it, just struggling atm to find cheap fog lights so I can get the bumper sprayed and fitted. I am hoping to transfer the HID's over with the fogs providing space as there is also going to be a big intercooler fitted as it works out cheaper and better than a rs2 intercooler.

just to show people how good the HID's are compared to the candle's the s2 left the factory with:

and that kit for the fogs only cost me £47 posted from the bay of all things cheap Laughing

These recaro's are what are currently fitted in the car atm:

but i'm thinking of changing them for some rs2 electric heated recaro's as I want to go more for luxury everything and don't mind the weight penalty compared to these lightweight recaros. The annoying thing is I seem to be collecting recaro's I went and picked up yet another pair of black leather recaro's (i'm now on 4 sets)

Wanna sell me a set then? Very Happy ..much cheapness of course Cool

lol, I posted on s2forum a question asking what my interior was worth as i'm in mixed views, I know i'll never get back what I paid for them, i'm just looking for some towards the rs2 front seats.

Getting a rs2 airbox in about a weeks time, found someone with a couple for sale Laughing

then its just getting ready to take it off the road.

Thinking about it i'd probably want £300 for the front seats as they cost me more than that to get shipped over and get the bases for them (proper one's not cut/shut one's)

also found out I can get this is the back of a renault clio 1.8 16v sport Very Happy

and also these:

So now just hunting down the last few bits I need then i'll get the bumper fitted to my car. Still can't believe how much the grilles for in the bumper cost which is why I might make a change and go for some rs4 style mesh same as 2 others I know of.

Well my old seats went to a mate on s2forum for a decent price and is now in an avant Laughing

In the place of them I now have:

genuine rs2 recaro's with genuine rs2 seat looms for the electric and late spec black leather and genuine carbon... I got fed up having re-trimmed/replica stuff so wanted proper stuff.

My old seats held me in more than these which is a shame but I like these due to the rarity. Mod's seem to be coming now on the car, fitted some of the black headlining trims the other day, which I got for the bargin sum of nothing Very Happy

Nice seats Pete.
I've hunted and hunted and hunted for some RS2 recaro's for mine. Turned down umpteen sets....why? I need beige/cream/Ecru RS2 recaro's.
Not exactly common Laughing

But the standard seats don't bug me at all, I quite like them really.

Yeah I'd wanted recaro's since I got the car and admitted the one's i'd had was lovely (and I fell asleep in them at work a couple of times Embarassed ) When this set come up for a good price with genuine carbon/rear seats I just had to get it, just got to run the loom thru for the heated seats and its all done.

And hopefully I won't be spending anymore on the car till the rebuild, i'm just going to get the bits i've actually got fitted.

@jas - quick question me and fitzy from s2 forum was wondering - do normal coupe (non s2/v6) front bumper brackets fit an s2 bumper or are those brackets unusable.

Just had a complete set of rs2 bumper grille's turn up today and as a bonus papvas included the grille mesh as mine is damaged so i've got to swap that in.

I also got the foglights as well for the bumper, just waiting for some trim clips and the bumper sprayed then i'll get that on the car.

Going to wire up the sidelights to the fogs as well to be a bit different, looks like I need another set of sidelight leds Rolling Eyes

all of the black leather is in now and i've been working on the headlining trims, from the front back to the bit of trim over the rear window is in and all black including the visors and some of the light switches. The headlining is different in mine because I have the sunroof and its lowered down so the two bits of trim for the back wont fit, i'm now going to match the trims by spraying them hopefully then the only thing i've got to do is either source a original headlining (yeah lol thats going to be easy)

or just wait till my headlining is trimmed up at a re-trimmers i've used before in herts (i've dropped it off and been waiting for ages) so I will hopefully pick that up soon and fit it.

Hi,

I'm looking forward to this, as I'm about to do mine! Was the wiring easy enough? I imagine the actual fitting of the windows and seals to be fairly straight forward. 4hrs sounds pretty good as I've got a whole week to get it wrong Laughing

Sorry this is just a cut/paste from my thread on s2forum. I just have not had the time tonight to get some proper piccy's and do a proper post.

Nope. Its getting worse as it goes along so i'm sourcing a new clutch and spare g/b for when the engines rebuilt.

I've got a bottom end coming when I go to adi so I can build that one up as hopefully its in better condition as its lower milage etc. Nearly got everything for the suspension side just the odd one or two bits then the rest can go for powdercoating etc.

I'm trying to decide if to stick with koni's, h&r's (extra low one's) or switch over to a custom coilover setup using the koni's but with custom weighted springs.

Just don't want the car to be undrivable on rough roads which i've heard it might be with the coilovers as the car is currently on koni's and standard springs (with the 19's) and its killing my back atm, i've got a consultation with the doctor on wend to see what/if they can do anything

I should be getting a lockup in a week or so then the major works starting on the car. The engine will be coming out and sold off with the full stainless as I should be getting another engine at combe.

Still waiting for the front bumper and mirrors back from teh sprayers.

Just picked up a catch tank and spare huge intercooler that I got as part of the deal for my 2 door escort estate.

I have picked up a complete loom/switches for the rs2 front seats to make them heated and a couple of panels to get sprayed for the bodywork to make it mint.

Lol i've got it sprayed up and got everything to fit it but at present its laying in my bed room alongside my enthusiasm for the car, i've been spending most of my time/effort on the chipfat express which is getting a dash swap at the weekend cause i'm bored and its easier to do wiring with the dash out Laughing

If I get really bored I might have a go at fitting the bumper this weekend Rolling Eyes
