Not a particularly exciting title i know but dont have a really name for the project so didnt know what else to put!
Ok, car is a 98 A4 Avant 1.8t in Paradise green with full leather interior. Car was all standard when i got it and the plan is to slowly change bits and see how it goes. Always been into my VW's but this will be my first audi project.
This is how she looked when i first got her...
Have run her like this for a little while now to do a bit of a shake down and see what needs doing.
First up was a good clean inside as the previous owner had a rather large dog im guessing ( there was fur on the roof lining!! ) and then replace the standard cassette player with my CD setup. Also have a in dash DVD but after fitting it decided i wasnt keen on it so has now been taken back out and i will stick with CD's
Got some new alloys from a friend who is breaking an A6. Slightly larger than i originally planned to go for but will se how they go. Wheels are 19" RS4 reps in pretty good condition although i think i will get they painted black at some point.
fitted the wheels and while i was doing it noticed that the suspension is really on its last legs so that should hopefully be replaced with a set of coilovers next month to allow me to get rid of the 4x4 look. Did a quick photoshop and this is more the look im going for..
Also have some clear side repeaters on the way to me so i can get rid of the orange ones.
So thats it at the moment, as i say hopefully coilovers next month when i get back from holiday then after that thinking of getting the car profesionally detailed and maybe get the roof coloured gloss black and the same with the wheels.
Any comments welcome and i will update it as things change |

Your photoshop plan works a treat Marc - bring it on! Wheels look nice, but lowering it makes so much difference
Keep us updated with progress,
Alan |

Cheers Alan,
Its getting there slowly but will be worth it in the end. Decided coilovers are the best bet as im not sure how much it can be lowered on those wheels so best to have the option to fine tune rather than being stuck with a fixed drop and having to do arch work etc. |

I love threads like this
Go with those 19" RS4's you won't be disapointed
I have a set in black fitted to mine, just watch out for the wheel width

Ooh, i like it
Have been running the 19's for about a week now and no rubbing so far, will have to see when its lowered if it does, fingers crossed it doesnt!
Clear repeaters turned up today and have been fitted so no orange blobs on the side now, makes a nice little improvement for very little money i think.
Unfortunatley the coilovers wont get ordered till i get back from my hols so wil be a few weeks yet. Fly out to beijing on saturday morning for 2 weeks! cant wait! |

Had a mate helping with fitting the coilovers today. Pretty happy with the way it sits although we did find that its missing a c link on the passenge side for the antiroll bar which would explain the interesting handling! anyway. pics...........

Yeah still aout aother 40mm of drop on the shocks but with the roads over here and the large amount of speed bumps its about as low asi can really get. Only had a tiny bit of rubbing from the front left when i threw it into a roundabout and im pretty sure thats due to the missing c link. Not bad considering the height and the fact its on 19s i dont think. |

Looks stunning It's really brought out the look of the 19's and made them fill the arches right out!
Doesn't need to go any lower imho |
