makes me laugh- before I saw this post (posting on that one re. the Audi 80 from Estonia... ).. I thought !"I'm sure I've got a project thread somewhere"
I'll see if I can update later- I'm working on some stuff now, taking pictures as I go, for Audience issue 100. Nothing "big", but hopefully something worthy of going in.....
I've been spending some time in my shed of late, much to the wife's annoyance |

RESULT
Just about to order replacement springs for the 90- managed to strike a deal for club members for PI Springs- I had these on my first 90 (go back to the VERY early issues of Audience)
Working on prices/ details now, BUT there will be a saving for members over and above most E Bay/ other retailers. Not just for early models either (Although series 2 is covered as well)
Details will be in issue 100 of Audience.... |

update:
plan is to haul my a$$ off to Phil's next week (Friday/Saturday/Sunday/Monday)
Plan is:
replace various breather pipes in the engine bay; check that the timing on the dizzy is correct- I'm currently averaging 2 miles per £1 of fuel due to short journey to/ from work.
I need to paint some rings black for the grille I made (see issue 100 of Audience)
Replace all springs with the PI units; rear shocks replaced with new old units I had from the system 2 kit I had years ago (never fitted)- fronts will be eibach (I think)- Phil has them on a 90 currently he owned.
Check front brake disk thickness/ condition (have new ones to fit if needed)
Waxoyl sill/ rear boot- slight touch up needed for rear sill and boot floor (although boot floor is predominantly inside, not outside- not a big area)
Check for water loss- suspect either damaged radiator or pipe
Replace broken front seat belt receptacle (I blame Mary for this when she was in my car )
Replace bonnet with one sourced from Oliver on here- am told by Mark he should have it for next weekend. Oliver advises it needs going over with rubbing compound
Currently trying to source a company that can "mend" slightly buckled alloys- I've got 2 needing "attention" with 4 new tyres, and I'll be needing 2 new tyres soon on the Nothelle's
Set up the front suspension for tracking, etc.
Give it a damned good clean- inside and out- think I've got some leather treatment stuff somewhere
Hope Mark can find the vernier pulley he has kicking around so we can dial the cam in.
Refix the rear seat base squab- lost the screws (I've got plenty @ Phil's )
If funds allow (as well as time) I may try to fix and modify the S2 bumper I have.... (fit chrome trim to the top to match the rest of the car- don't give a rats if you don't agree with the chrome lol)
Check ABS sensor rings- ABS can be a little "random" in normal use- think a sensor gap isn't quite right |

Scrap it? |

What's up with your bonnet? I thought it was your boot that was duff? |

I've avoided mentioning the bonnet- as yet.
Front suspension was changed- found a knackered rubber on a track rod end (thanks for replacement, Mark); one CV gaiter was split (had spares bought from Stanford Hall a few years back for £1 each )
Radiator was a BITCH to fit and remove; I took the multi-way pipe off (holds the ISV in place)- full of WATER and Mayo
replaced it with one from Nogin a while back (original was split)- which I then wanted to take the breather pipe from there to the block off- could only be done with the rad out of the way.....
98% blocked with oil/ mayo.....
cleaned out and replaced. Car starts a little better (can understand why!- don't think the 2 miles each way to work at Owen's speeds is doing it any good)- oil pressure has dropped now though- 4bar when giving it beans, 1.5 on idle when warm. Suspect an oil flush and filter change will help (it did last time I had this issue)
ABS is working weird now- different to before. I didn't manage to get any new spacer rings, and as the back suspension still needs doing, I'll get some before my next trip up to Phil's. (I'll check the sensors as well while I'm at it)
Seat belt replaced (another bitch of a job for one 17mm bolt)
Wiring loom- not done, BUT I did manage to find an intact loom from my old boot lid off the other black 90- I intend to fit that this weekend.
Thanks to help from Nogin on the phone regarding the reassembly of the Alloy top mounts
Thanks to Phil for doing a lot of the donkey work (he had me fixing his network/ PC's at home)
I'll comment on the bonnet later; lets just say my idea of mint and the sellers idea of mint aren't the same. When I ask if "no dents" I expect one with no dents. It looks like I'm likely to be out of pocket- a bonnet I can't use and money for petrol for Mark to collect something that wasn't as expected. It's that bad, I left my original bonnet on with a dent and missing paint from the front...... |

short runs and the cold winter will be causing the mayo. It's just condensation and the car isn't getting warm enough to clear it.
Why have you gone for the alloy top mounts. It's been fairly well acknowledged that they are overpriced crap. |

They were fitted a LONG time ago. (Several years- before I had the Avant, I think) |
