I'm liking it with black lights and grille, I have to say - leaving the rings chromed. Stealth A4
what about some S4 mirrors to break up all the black? Just a thought... |

I'm quite undecided on this, so will chuck in my opinion to futher confuse you! I think, black lights is one thing, potentially I do quite like the B8 A4 style lights, but think that the grille surround and the four rings should be left as chrome. |

I know i had never seen this thread!!
I dropped by Geoffs last month as i was in East Grinstead anyway. He showed me a shiny set of S4 suspension parts waiting to go on his car which is why i asked about it!
He also showed me the video taken in car at ADI last year. I went out with him on the 2nd session and it was cool to see the footage on his mahoosive tv! |

Where does the time go indeed?
So much has past since, even fans has changed WTF?? looks well cool BTW
Things haven't gone too badly with work over the last 8 months or so, it has attracted more work from new sectors and clients but also due to the recession, we have picked up a few job's that had been started by other companies. Plus new Frameworks have opened up and we are principle electrical contractor in some cases. Hopefully this will save us from going under Some of these are big jobs too and I have been earmarked for involvement in most of them certainly the major ones anyway. Doesn't always pay to be good at your job so no idea where i'm going to find time for the car events and the wifey I'm sure i'll be fine. I am definately in for the PPC/SH weekend and if I can get some more info, there may be a few new events in the South East for the AOC to attend this year Castle Combe events this year are also an almost cert, though the Black Knight will probably not make it out for any sessions this year My camcorder and assembly kit is available for use but I can't guarantee it's effectiveness in other cars. We tried in Gompas S2 Avant last year at Mallory and although it recorded well, all you saw was mainly roof/sky until he braked hard for the corners and then you might be able to make out the car in front
As for the suspension, firstly a big thank you to QuattroJames for spotting them on ebay and giving me the chance to purchase a set of springs and shocks from a B5 S4 for a mere £31, + a bit fuel to collect from East London. Only done about 5K before they were changed for H&R's. They have been checked out in the FA and they are genuine S4 parts, allbeit superseded now! I know Eric has many things on his plate, as usual, but i did mention last year something about squeezing me in in the Spring, no pun intended Whilst everything will be off the car and the fact that at the last MOT an advisory on one of the bushes came up, it's time for poly's. I have Powerflex in mind for these but if anyone out there has had better experience from A. N. Other, then please let me know. I've found a full kit for around £300 (A4 Quattro/S4) so if you also know where to get cheaper?????
Right, that's been enough time spent on here already |

Time for an update:
Been phoning around today looking at poly bush kits. As Powerflex are the best manufacturers that I know of, these will be the choice I'm going for.
As powerflex don't actually sell to Joe Public, I have had to ring around some of their distributors, larkspeed, Demon Tweeks to name a couple. A bit more to it than just buying a set of bushes, for the main part they are standard sizes but the roll bar bushes come in different diameters for both fronts and rears, the question is, apart from going out and measuring the bars, is there anyway I can find out what diameters I have? The rears have 1mm between 2 size options and the fronts have 4mm between 3 different types of diameter. As the tolerances are quiet close, I don't want to make a guess as to what the sizes are by measureing them, I dont have a set of vernier calipers to be exact.
Any help would be advantageous |

Found my old set of verniers still within tolerance (up to 200mm anyway ) The front anti roll bar is 29mm and the rear is 15mm. First kit will be ordered in the week
One thing I have noticed with the kits is the lack of top mounts surely these are as important as all the other bushes
Does anyone know where I can get a set of upgrades from? Powerflex do a universal range, but I want specific mounts I also want to see if I can get some spring mounts, the ones on the dampers that seat the springs. I'm not too techy with it all so I'm learning as I go |
